6 Things I Dream About

This is a part of the 10 Day Challenge List, and I am to list things I dream about. It could either be the things I dream at night, which feels way to complex to describe here, OR it’s very close to Day 2: 9 Things You Would Like To Do in Your Life, so I’m changing this to the dream of the UMPOSSIBLE, the things I daydream bout:

Day 5: Write 6 things you DAYdream about
  1. Winning a grotesque amount of money, and thereafter quit my job, take Jed, my family and friends on many trips, pay off my parents mortgage, pay off my student loans, buy my dream house, with a writing cabin with an ocean view, buying an awesome DSLR camera and building a photography studio. You know, the usual “If I won a million dollar” drill.
  2. Taking a year of absence from work and sell everything I have and just travel around the world experiencing new cultures. Of course I would bring my camera and document it and then publish a book about it that would be very popular.
  3. Being a published author, being interview in my garden at my secluded house. I would bake amazing cookies for the journalist. In fact, I’m probably being interviewed about my next cookbook.
  4. Redecorating my entire apartment. Yeah, I know, it doesn’t sound that UMPOSSIBLE, but it’ll never happen. It’s easier to just move. Preferably to a place that someone else already decorated.
  5. Hm, the things I daydream about when people shoves me around on the bus on the way to work is better left out.
  6. Suddenly being a VERY skilled photograph with a Hasselblad, and being on my way to London to display my pictures at a gallery. The gallery is even paying for the ticket and the hotel room. I’m THAT good. And I drink champagne on the plane. And in the gallery. Hm. Maybe this star photographer alter ego is a bit of a booze hound.

7 Things I’m Scared of

This is a part of the 10 Day Challenge List, and this time I have to list things I’m scrared of. Way too easy. Phobic, anyone? Let’s bask in the gangrene light that is my irrational phobias:

Day 4: Write 7 things you are scared of
  1. Chemicals. Ever since I was a kid. Detergents, chem class in school, soldering oil, dark room chemicals…
  2. Sharks. I’ve never actually been in the water with one or known anyone that has. They just freak me the hell out. Awful, awful creatures.
  3. The Dentist. I can’t deal with it. If I was rich I would visit the dentist regularly, because then I could FRIKKIN’ PAY THEM TO SEDATE ME.
  4. Needles. Even a blood test makes me cry. I’m a woss.
  5. Fish scales.Uhm. Don’t even ask… Ew!
  6. Flying. Not all of it or the entire trip. Just at the start. I always think we will crash and die at lift off.
  7. Death. Well, this at least doesn’t feel all that irrational.

9 Things I Would Like to Do in My Life

This is a part of the 10 Day Challenge List, and this time I suppose it’s about dreams, small and big. Hm. Hard. It’s a fluctuating subject.

Day 2: Write 9 things you would like to do in your life
  1. I want more space. I need to move out of my tiny apartment!
  2. I want to learn to take really really good photos.
  3. I want to take portrait photos of all my friends and family.
  4. I want to travel. It’s the biggest reboot you can do.
  5. I would love to make some money on at least one of my hobbies. It doesn’t have to be a lot or anything; just a tiny kick in my day job’s face.
  6. I would like to have a job that made me feel happy and creative, the job that makes waking up in the morning fun.
  7. I would love to write story lines for RPG games. I love a game with a good story.
  8. I would like to write and publish a book.
  9. I want to one day live in a secluded house with my own little garden, where I can grow herbs and sugar snaps, and just be calm and content.

10 Things About Me

This is a part of the 10 Day Challenge List that I said I’d do the other day, and now when I sit down and look over the list it feels a bit daunting, especially as I read over the later points in the list.  It feels a bit self-centred, and that makes me feel very self-concious and embarrassed.  I guess that’s why it’s called a challenge… Here goes, the first point of the list :

Day 1: Write 10 Things About Yourself
  1. I love playing computer- and video games. Pong and my C64 were my first loves. Sometimes when I look back and think about how much time I’ve spent gaming all through my life I feel a bit uneasy, but I refuse to feel guilty. Everyone wastes their time on something.

  2. I dream in sequels. I have some reoccurring dreams that have been going on for several years; it’s like watching different episodes of a show on TV.

  3. I am obsessively organised when it comes to sorting certain particular things: Computer files, photos, my writing, pens, books, papers, kitchen utensils. The rest of my stuff is all a big mess.
  4. I was extremely shy as a kid. Then I became overly social and un-shy and obtrusive. Nowadays I am social but reserved.

  5. I never get bored. True story. There are too many fun projects to do. Give me a pen and paper, or internet connection, or a book, or even a window with a pretty view and a cup of tea for that matter and I’ll sit quietly in a corner for hour and not bother you.

  6. I have dyscalculia. I look at maths problems and it’s like I can’t even see what it says on the page. I also have no number memory what so ever. If I look at a paper with four numbers on it I usually forget them as soon as I stop looking at the paper. This has caused some kerfuffle concerning the code to the laundry room.

  7. I have never tried drugs and I never will. Unless you count that one time when someone slipped something into my drink. My big brother once taught me to only buy beer in a bottle when in a crowded club, and always keep my thumb over the bottle opening. It’s a good lesson.

  8. I like to write; short stories, longish stories, poetry, whatever. It’s all too easy to find some substance for a story everyday and everywhere. I you find me staring at you on the subway I’m probably making up a gruesome story about your life.

  9. I just love STORIES, in books, in movies, in games, on TV. Whenever I get the smallest inkling of a connection with any character or the slightest insight in its head and thoughts I’m hooked. Even the most simplistic stories can have mini-meta-story in them that can be interesting.

  10. The first book I ever picked out in a library was “Where the Wild Things Are”, I was 6 and I made a third grader read it out loud to me. When I watched the movie a while ago I got really gloomy. Spike Jonze really brought out the heartbreak in that story.
