Panning: Not quite there yet

Ok, I have plans to practice panning with my camera (I need to, see below), it would just be great to have some sort of sense for it and maybe be lucky enough to take a great shot one day with loads of movement and liveliness. One night I said to Jed, for fun, that maybe he and the cat could help me out. Wellโ€ฆ

At first Sixxten was happy to run around in the living room. I didn’t get a chance to set my focus though, he started without me!

"Wait till I say when!"

Then he got sick of the whole thing pretty quickly and then decided to just just leisurely saunter by me. No action shot there.

"Nooo, run run run!"

Then he completely lost interest, and wouldn’t move much even without a little encouragement:

"Go on, mr Cat, action!"

Turns out his only interest was the string. He didn’t at all care to help me practice my camera skills. Hmpf.

In the end he needed some comforting. I think he was a bit disappointed because he didn’t get to keep the string and didn’t get paid in tuna. Poor thing.

There you go, all in all this wasn’t a very successful experiment, and I think I need to find another target. Maybe when all the snow and ice is gone I could force Jed to ride up and down the street on his bike… Maybe he’d like to get paid in tuna.

  1. Uh-oh, Sixxten doesn’t look all that happy in the last shot. O_o Murder-eyes!
Also, lifting him with a leg and he doesn’t budge an inch, wow. I’m speechless.

  2. It might not come across, but he likes ANY kind of attention ๐Ÿ˜€ He’s attention kitty! And sometimes circus kitty!

  3. When you say panning my first thought goes to sports… ice hockey and such. Or some kind of racing. But I guess you could always try some place where a lot of vehicles or people rush by. Bicycles are nice, but not in season yet for a while.

I like it when you share your … well, let’s call it work in progress. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. @Mia: yeah, football, hockey and racingcars, hehe, classic mtifs, nooooooot within my general interests… Maybe i can get my friend Sara to make her kids run around for me…muahahah!

Also I have a a friend with an over-active dog.

      Hm.
