I completely missed the International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Because I totally forgot. Since I was on an awesome holiday in Scotland! Yeah baby! I found a pirate in a monkey bar though:
I had one of the most memorable vacations of my life, and I took loads of photos. I will post some of them as soon as I can find some time and peace and quiet. Right now it feels like I have hardly had any time at HOME since I got home from Scotland, and that my apartment is mostly a place to unload a lot of crap in. It is such a mess, with suitcases and backpacks and shopping bags, as well as some furniture and boxes from my parents attic.
My mum and dad has sold the old house, at last. I grew up in that house from the age of 4, and moved out when I was 19. We celebrated about 25 Christmases in that house. I will miss it a great deal. But I am very happy for my folks, that old house was way to big and my mum was sick of running up and down all those stairs. Now they have a nice and roomy apartment with a fantastic view over Stockholm.
So now I have to figure out what to do with all my childhood crap. Is the classic My Little Ponies worth anything today? 😉
It’s September already! It’s less than 2 month left to November and NaNoWriMo, WOO! As soon as that hit me (owie) I got that ridiculous tugging feeling in my tummy, if it was November NOW I would write at least 5 pages in the blink of an eye. Of course, after all the anticipation, when November finally comes I’ll sit there crying and pulling my hair out by the roots and curse the universe and the plot bunny (existent or non-existent).
Last year the plot bunny arrived quite early and come November 1st I had a clear outline and an entire made up city in my head with several characters with solid background stories. And for the first time, after five years of trying, I did it, I wrote 50 000 words in 30 days. I would like to say I actually wrote a 50 000 word story, but looking back at everything I wrote it might just as well have been prep work, I had so much material I never really got to core of the story. 50 000 words was not enough.
Almost one year later I can’t even remember what the point of the story was. I know I have it written down in a note somewhere, but I can’t remember it for the life of me. I’m sure it was revolutionary. Erm. Yeah.
No real plot bunny has poked up its fluffy head yet, but I’m sure it will. I was thinking about writing a sort of in-game/IRL gamer story based on EverQuestII, but maybe I’ll revisit the city I made up. I can’t make up my mind, really. We’ll see what happens.
“Flying Mounts – Soar high above Norrath and explore EQII like never before”
I wish I could have been at the SOE Fan Faire when they showed the trailer for the Destiny of Velious expansion. At first the camera fly over beautiful new zones, and then at the very end, the last few seconds, there is a character on a griffon. A flying mount. I mean, COME ON, that is so squee worthy! If I’d been there I would so have been screaming like the girl gamer I am.
Come ON! Look at it!
Flying mounts is of course one of the most important features in the new expansion. Now;
Onwards! Rawr!
